Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, no wait, that's a play by Charles Busch, I mean Lesbian Spider-Queens of Mars is a Wizard of Wor-like game from Anna Anthropy, the auteur who brought you games like Mighty Jill Off and When Pigs Fly. It's on Adult Swim.
Like Anthropy/Pixelante's other work, it has an arcade retro sensibility, down to pixelated cut-scene graphics to set the game's theme: you are lesbian spider-queen of Mars, and your slaves (bdsm-wise) are revolting. Skip the obvious joke, please. Slaves of various types wander around various levels of your palace, which are Wor-like mazes, and you must capture them by zapping them with your staff of power (which wraps them in spidersilk) and then move into them to capture.
The major gameplay divergence from Wizard of Wor is that you needn't hammer a button to shoot; instead, the spider-queen's enslavement ray extends permanently in the last direction of movement. Per Anthropy's blog, this is because she wanted you to be able to play one-handed -- an amusing line, but the game is hardly sufficiently erotic that you will find this necessary. This does change the feel of the game considerably, however; it feels less like a shooter and more Pac-Man-like.
Gameplay seems nicely tuned, the marriage of the retro sensibility with a slightly transgressive theme is amusing, and in all, it's pretty fun.
