Games for Xmas

As always, everyone gets games at my household. Betsy (20) got Rocketville from me and Dragon Age: Origins from Karen. Vicky (17) got Dominion and Left for Dead 2. Simona (6) got Uno and a premium subscription to Shidonni. Karen got Steam and Little King's Story (because it's supposed to be Pikmin-like, and she loves Pikmin). Vicky got me Tigris & Euphrates, and I got myself The Napoleonic Wars.

After dinner, we played Dominion, Bazaar, and Agricola.

adopt me plz? For the most part I'm housebroken.

I didn't really get anything for the holidays, but this was the first year I had disposable income so I overdid it on buying other people stuff. I got my brother and sister tons of DS games, I tried out Scribblenauts and it was pretty nifty. My little sister rummaged through a Pokemon-Rougelike and my brother got a fair share of 90's RPG's, so they'll be kept busy for a while. I played that new Mario game for Wii over at a friend's house and it's interesting. As a platformer it's pretty awkward and chock-full of gimmicks, but it's a blast as a party title. Hope everybody's holidays didn't suck and everything.

That sounds like a

That sounds like a relatively functional family. With my folks we spend a lot of time arguing about Christianity and whatnot. I told him "hey, I know you folks are kind of skeptical of Christianity, but you have to hand it to Jesus, at least he wasn't a child-raping war criminal like a certain other religious founder I could mention, ahem."

Peace be upon Him.

I'm going to have my own little fractured family in a few weeks as my son is born, I'm going to make board games an instrumental part of our ritual as he ages, and when I have a real family someday, likewise. There's something to be said for playing board games together, for one thing you don't have to depend on the internet or the electric grid persevering, for another, it's a less hoary expense of time than family prayer. The family that plays together stays together.

Mixed bag

Uno and Rocketville...sorry to hear that.

Steam and T&E--some good stuff there.

What do you think of Successors compare to The Napoleonic Wars?

Rocketville

Rocketville is the best damn thing. How I love that game.
