How difficult would it be to set up a suggestion system like NetFlix uses? If you keep track of each person's rankings, you ought to be able to figure out which users have similar tastes, and then suggest games to one user which are highly-ranked by similar users.

We do
In face, we have such a system. Once logged in, click "Recommends" on the top menu.
Ah! Serves me right for not
Ah! Serves me right for not fully exploring the site before offering feedback. (Argh, and it's right on the front page too. Now I really feel dumb...)
Two additional things, then, and hopefully I'm not behind the curve on these as well: the addition of a "not interested" button would be nice. Not having a PC, many of the recommended games look cool, but I won't get to play them. It would be nice to have a way to remove it from my recommendations without giving it a rating.
It also seems like it'd be more useful for people who've been using the site for a while and play a lot of these games. But it might be less useful for people who are coming from a mostly console gaming background and are looking for good games. Perhaps there could be a page with well-known console games and such -- not to review, just to rate, as a kind of training set. That way new users can immediately start getting better recommendations based on what they've played before.
